We provide various IT relate services as below;

We promote open source software in local community organisations, schools, universities and institutes of higher learning, non-governmenal organisations, and for private users. We help communities to make the best use of their IT infrastructure in order to achieve suces in whatever their business is.

 

We are not profit oriented but we charge for some services in order to keep the Network alive. In this way we can be sure that we will continue to offer our services for a long time.

We organize Linux training courses for different groups at diferent locations.

 

Our current offering is as follows;

 

Introduction to Desktop Linux

 

We have partnered with the Engineering Management and Innovation Institute (EMI) to train in linux for the desktop. We also provide advanced Linux training plus Linus System and Network Administration training. Our training is based on Debian/Ubuntu and RedHat/Fedora Distributions. Courses range from 6 days to several weeks.

 

Open ICDL

 

In a short wile, we plan to become an OpenICDL training partner for the East African region.

OpenICDL is an open source project that aims to develop and maintain a Free/Open Source version of the training materials used to ready students for the International Computer Driving License certification.

 

The project is supported by the Go-Open Campaign and the ICDL Foundation Africa.

 

Sun Academic Initiative - Uganda

 

We coordinate the Sun Academic Initiative - Uganda, an initiative of Sun Microsystems to bring affordable training to Academic institutions.

The Sun Academic Initiative is one of many programs Sun offers to further its collaborative relationship with educational institutions. As part of this program, schools become authorized to deliver training on Sun technologies to their students, faculty, and staff. The Sun Academic Initiative offers non-profit academic institutions access to free Web-based training and curricula, including courses in the latest Java and Solaris technologies.

We are the local support for TurboCash Accounting, possibly the best open source accounting software for Windows.

 

We customize various open source applications freely available on the Internet to suit the needs of local busines, educational institutions and community organisations.
